The number one best selling book is “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandberg. Although I haven’t read the book, I visited the website. Basically, the book is about women not advancing in the workplace because of a variety of reasons. But the reason I am interested in is that women (and some men) aren’t ambitious not because they don’t want to be but because of some of the same things we discuss, such as not feeling our work is adequate, waiting until we’re perfect, leaving work unfinished, a variety of fears, and so on. I know when I “lean in” to creating, things move so quickly that it feels out of control and that lack of balance is one of my blocks to “leaning In” to my creativity. The website http://leanin.org/ has some interesting short videos on “Power and Influence” and “Negotiating”.
